Committee overview, objectives and activities: 

The Student Council sponsors several 7th and 8th grade school dances throughout the school year. Parent volunteers and teachers chaperone the dances. The last dance of the year, in May, is for 6th and 7th graders. Volunteer opportunities are prioritized to 7th and 8th grade parents, whereas the last dance for 6th and 7th grade parents.

School Dances for 2009-2010

7/8th Grade Dance

September 11 - Red, White and Blue: 7:30-9:30pm

October 30 - Halloween: 7-9pm

December 4, 2009 - Holiday: 7-9pm

February 5, 2010 - Valentine: 7-9pm

March 19, 2010 - Last Dance for 8th graders: 7-9pm

6/7th Grade Dance

May 7, 2010 - 7-9pm

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

Please arrive on time to the kitchen, either myself or one of the Student Activity Directors will be there to hand your lanyard (1st shifts) so you are recognized as a parent chaperone. 

Chaperones, leave cameras at home, please!

First shift will hand off the lanyard to the second shift, second shift, be sure to give your lanyard to one of the SAD end of the dance.

Upon arrival, second shift, please go to your assigned position and relieve 1st shift person and if you are new, ask to be debriefed.

For 7-9pm dances:                                                                 For 7:30-9:30pm dances:

1st shift arrives at 6:45pm                                                    1st shift arrives at 7:15pm
2nd shift arrives at 7:45pm                                                   2nd shift arrives at 8:15pm
 
 
General rules - No food or drinks inside the gym. Sitting on bleachers and stage are not allowed. No ins or outs doors except the main entrance. Watch out for: Fast dances - Freaking: Slow dances - hand placement.
Dress appropriately - It can get very warm in the Multi and toes may get stepped on!
